A Sweet Morning Treat
This delightful recipe came about the same way most good desserts do: from leftover bread or croissants. On a cold morning, you might crave something sweet without going overboard. That's when I discovered the magic of Apple Pie Pop Dust.
This baked French toast tastes like dessert but works just as well for brunch. It's soft in the middle and golden on top, with warm apple spice running through every bite.
The Secret Ingredient
The Apple Pie Pop Dust does the heavy lifting here. It brings that delicious apple pie flavor without needing stewed apples or extra sugar. You can prep this dish the night before or throw it together in the morning.
Simply bake it off and spoon it out hot. Add cream or ice cream if you like. There are no rules when it comes to enjoying this treat!
Serves, Prep & Cook
Serves: 4–6
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 40–45 minutes
What You Need
4–6 slices of stale bread or croissants
4 large eggs
2 cups of milk
1 cup of Apple Pie Pop Dust
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Butter for greasing the baking dish
To Finish (Optional)
Maple syrup
Whipped cream or ice cream
What to Do
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a baking dish with butter.
Tear the bread or croissants into pieces and place them in the dish.
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Apple Pie Pop Dust, vanilla extract, and salt.
Pour the mixture over the bread pieces, ensuring they are well soaked.
Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight or let it sit for at least 30 minutes if you're making it in the morning.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40–45 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the middle.
Serve hot, drizzled with maple syrup, and topped with cream or ice cream.
Enjoy this baked French toast as a sweet start to your day or as a comforting dessert. The combination of flavors will surely delight your taste buds!
