These lamb koftas are one of my go-to recipes when I want something full of flavour. Ground lamb, fresh herbs, and the right spices come together beautifully, and grilling them brings out that perfect smoky touch. Serve them with tzatziki, and you've got a simple, tasty meal that never disappoints.
What you need
500g lamb mince
2 tablespoons Smokey Joe's Souvlaki seasoning
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup chopped parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil for frying (optional)
What to do
In a mixing bowl, combine the lamb mince, Smokey Joe's Souvlaki seasoning, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, onion, garlic, parsley, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
Divide the mixture into 12 portions and shape each portion into a sausage-shaped kofta onto a skewer
Cook over a medium heat BBQ, or in a large frying pan, over medium-high heat and add enough olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan.
Add the koftas to the pan, cooking in batches if necessary, and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through.
Serve hot with tzatziki or hummus, a crispy green salad and warm pita bread.
Enjoy your delicious and flavorful Smokey Joe's Souvlaki lamb koftas!
