If you've never made your own focaccia before, you're missing out. There's a few different methods to making this delicious classic Italian bread that's crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
This is my quick and easy recipe, and I've flavoured and seasoned the focaccia with @smokeyjoesrubs NEW Loaded Herb Salt. Trust me, you don't need fancy equipment to bake delicious bread.
Ingredients
500g laucke focaccia flour
4g dried yeast
330mls lukewarm water
1 tablespoon Smokey Joe's Loaded Herb Salt
¼ cup good quality olive oil
1 sprig Fresh rosemary
Method
Lightly grease a cast iron skillet
Combine the focaccia flour, yeast, and water in a bowl and mix to form a dough.
Knead on a lightly floured surface for around 10 minutes by hand, or you can let your bread maker do the hard work.
Place the dough into the skillet, using your fingers gently more dough around to cover the skillet.
Cover with a cloth and allow dough to rise for 1 hour in a warm place. Should double in size.
Pour over ½ the olive oil and press to make deep dimples into the dough with your fingers.
Pour over the remaining oil, sprinkle the Smokey Joe's Loaded Herb Salt and fresh rosemary over the dough, and make a few more dimples.
Allow dough to rest for 10 minutes
Cook at 220°C (200°C for fan-forced) for 25 minutes or until the focaccia is golden and when tapped makes a hollow sound.
Allow bread to cool on a wire rack and slice!!
